Special collections projects at New College Library

In 2005 the Reverend Robert Funk made a donation of $1,000,000 to New College Library. This donation was made with the intention of improving the facilities for special collections at New College Library. Three key areas were identified.

Main Library Redevelopment Project

The Main Library Redevelopment Project is transforming our Main Library for the demands of the twenty-first century.

The ground floor has now reopened fully and work is progressing on the first floor. The fifth and sixth floors were completed in 2008, including new study spaces and the Centre for Research Collections.

Research Publications Service developments

The Open Access Publications Policy was passed by Senate in February 2009 and requires researchers to deposit their research outputs in the Publications Repository.

Reclassification Project

The Main Library Reclassification Project has now finished.

Over 180,000 books have been reclassified.
