Collections in Edinburgh University Library

The Chemistry Collection is the primary collection of chemistry literature in the University and is housed in the the Darwin Library. Literature on chemical engineering is held in the Robertson Engineering & Science Library. Please contact the Library staff for further information on access to chemistry resources.

Royal Society of Chemistry Ebooks
RSC books and book series published 1968-2009. Most of the individual titles have records in the library catalogue.

Sax’s dangerous properties of industrial materials
(11th edition) - data on toxicological, flammability, reactivity, explosive potential, and regularity information for approximately 26,000 substances. Contains Immediately Dangerous Life or Health (IDLH) levels for approximately 1,000 chemicals. Also, exposure-level classifications for a number of regulatory agencies, from OSHA to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Smithsonian Physical Tables
9th revised edition (2003) tables of common physical and chemical data.

Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry
7th edition (2008 release) - Subject areas include: inorganic and organic chemicals, advanced materials, pharmaceuticals, polymers and plastics, metals and alloys, biotechnology and biotechnological products, food chemistry, process engineering and unit operations, analytical methods, environmental protection, etc.
